A recent report from U.S. Policy Metrics/Hamilton Place Strategies report gave credit to the EB-5 Regional Center program for creating jobs and encouraging private investment in the United States without affecting budget, according to PR News Wire on June 25.
This report coincides with recent bipartisan legislation created to continue the program. EB-5 allows foreign investors to live in the United States if the money they invest creates a certain amount of jobs for Americans. The EB-5 program has been put to work in every U.S. state, and the report acknowledged the program’s versatility, as it has been able to meet the challenges of the fluctuating U.S. economy.
To specify, the EB-5 program facilitated the private investment of $5.2 billion between 2005 and 2013. Data from 2013 in particular is promising: 31,000 jobs created in 11 states over the course of one year.
