There have been reports that United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers (who are in charge of immigration raids under the Department of Homeland Security) have active plans to take migrants from their homes.
Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles executive director Angelica Salas recently said in a statement: “In their haste to return the migrants home, the U.S. government has failed to ensure Central American migrants have proper representation in court, and as a result, many have been wrongly denied asylum and/or deported in absentia.”
