Under President Barack Obama’s administration, the government has been deporting the fewest numbers of illegal immigrants in nearly a decade, Fox 7 News reported on April 29.
As of mid-April, federal immigration officials have deported around 127,000 individuals since the fiscal year commenced in October.
If this trend continues, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement will have deported the fewest number of illegal immigrants since the administration of former President George W. Bush removed around 207,700 individuals from the country in 2006.
Following a record high year of deportations in 2012, number 409,849, the Obama administration has increasingly decreased the use of this procedure.
